Eyebrow Microblading
MICROBLADING / FEATHERING
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow procedure that is carried out by a qualified technician using a specialist hand-tool which holds disposable microblades.
Unlike the harsh block tattooing of the past, Feather Touch Tattoo looks completely natural because it mimics the real brow hair and can be individually customised. Depending on your needs, brows can be subtly coloured or completely remodelled as each new strand is intricately etched and coloured by hand.
How does it work?
The required pigment is deposited into the superficial dermis of the skin with the disposable microblade which allows the technician to create bespoke, crisp hair strokes which look like natural eyebrow hair.
How does it differ from semi permanent tattooing?
Microblading differs from conventional semi-permanent tattooing by the very fact that it is a manual procedure. When using a hand held micro blade, the colour is deposited closer to the surface than when a machine is used leaving very fine and crisp hair strokes with no spilling under the skin.
Who can have Microblading?
With all semi-permanent makeup procedures it is the practitioner’s responsibility to make sure that there are no contraindications to treatment. If there is a medical condition the clinic doctor will be consulted prior to treatment. REMEMBER: We have your best interests in mind.
How long does the pigmentation last?
Microblading tends to last between 12-36 months and after this period of time may need a colour boost or refresh.
Does it hurt?
Like all semi-permanent procedures microblading will require a topical anaesthetic which can be topped up throughout the procedure making it relatively painless. We can organise this on your behalf through our dedicated compounding pharmacist upon completion of risk assessment form.
The Procedure
A metal hand tool with fine needles is used to create fine hair-like strokes. A hypo-allergenic pigment is implanted into the skin and will generally last up to 2 years (results will vary depending on the clients exposure to sun and resistance to pigment).
Anaesthetic is continually applied to decrease any pain or discomfort during the procedure. Depending on the depth of colour requested, most people are comfortable in public within 2-5 days.
KEEP THE AREA AS DRY AND CLEAN AS POSSIBLE
The eyebrow and surrounding area should be kept dry for 5-7 days. This includes no swimming, saunas, steam, sweat or products on or around the area. Please do not use any oils or moisturisers across the forehead or eyelids. When showering please take extra care to ensure they are kept as dry as possible as this will help the pigment settle into the skin for longer lasting results. Remove eye makeup in a downward direction on cotton pads. Do not scrub or wash the eyebrows.
Before having your microblading procedure carried out please be advised of the following…
After discussing your goals and assessing the areas to be treated, we advise you of the best options to achieve the look you most desire. Everything is pre-drawn, shaped and measured for your approval before proceeding. Please be advised that eyebrow technicians are NOT cosmetic surgeons. The realistic goal is not to create perfect symmetry, but to make a moderate improvement to enhance the facial characteristics which are already present. The technician has to follow your natural eyebrow contour.
Remember – no two eyebrows are ever truly identical!
